Then my cousin was telling me about this guy who just painted his jeep and he said he did a really good job. I looked at it and it really looked good. This guy paints hot rods and does frame offs for a living. He does have a full time job so this was on his spare time only, I really did not have much money so we came to an agreement $1,750. No, this was not some crappy paint job. This is showroom quality, this guy has trophys for his work. The reason i came out so cheap is because i told him that there was not time limit and he could finish it when he felt like it. 10 months later, man was it worth it. Bedliner ran me about 300. $1,750 included complete strip of body and disassembly of EVERYTHING. Replace floor pan on driver's side, weld up the cb antenna hole, and take out a few rock kisses, etc. Also, he installed most of the parts i gave him. Parts ran me around 2-$3,000. So for under $5,000, and i got a nice 40.

For what you've put into it, it looks amazing..

Sorry if I offended you with asking about price.. When you are looking for a fj40, I like asking to get ideas on how much I'm gonna have to fork out to get what I want.. I appreciate the openness.

thanks for sharing, you got an excellent deal, enjoy your "new" 40 it looks amazing. No one around here is going to touch my 40 for under $5k:( what ever I end up spending it will be worth it to have a nice 40.

No bro, you did not offend me, it just goes to show you that if your patient and know people, things can be done a whole lot cheaper, body work is just way too overly priced.

WOW! that's the truck I have wet dreams about. SWEET! I've gotta be the first idot to post this. I you wanna sell it call me!

Your body guy did a fantastic job, thats alot of wotk for the money. Give him a pat on the back!

Where did you pick up the seat belts from and how are they mounted to the roll bar?? curious, I have some old SOR seats the prior owner put in my 1980. My wife loves the idea of actually had some shoulder belts.

Dave, I purchased the seatbelts from coolcruisers.com. I will say that i am 100% satisfied with them. The roll bar has a hole that goes through both sides with a long screw, and a nut on the end. If you would like some pics, let me know because i have know purchased a star and have unlimited space.:D
