I purchased this 83 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 with hopes of building a trail rig.

The p/o had removed the fenders, hood (including everything under it), all the doors and also cut out the rockers.

Although it looked rough, the truck had less than 100k on the clock.

The axles, the transmission/ xfer, drive shafts, and frame were intact and had never been off road.

I needed a plan to replace the rockers/ build a cage.

I also needed a motor to get this project moving......

So, my search began for a solid 2f.

I also needed to find someone, to build me a cage.

I contacted Lowtideride for help.....

Being the righteous dude he is, he volunteered to help build me a cage. (in his front yard none the less)

Fast Forward a few weeks......

I received a pm from LTR asking if I wanted to buy his rig instead.

When I first read the message, I though one of his friends was logged in as him/playing a joke on both of us.

Turned out it was no joke and a deal was struck.

Velvetta was purchased with:

no axles or steering parts
no suspension
no wheels or tires
no transmission or transfer case
no drive shafts
no fuel cell

It was complete with:

A real nice 2f
steel tubes in all the right places
a brand new un opened toybox
a new roof
4 rust free doors
loads of karma

I gotta use the term "purchased" loosely, because AL pretty much GAVE it to me for VERY LITLLE money.

For the record-

Marlin ROCKS!

Even though my new toybox was purchased second hand, they provided me tech support both on the

phone and over the net. http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=55242.new#new

They even mailed me a few missing pieces NO CHARGE!

I purchased their hysteer kit and recommend their shop/ products to all!

P.S. Whats the bully dogs name? :p

I scored a set of 5 vintage Ansen slots from Uncle Bernie on NFC.

They are 15 x 10 and don't require any spacers.

After 2 hrs of hand polishing per wheel, the wheels looked new.

I wrapped them in a new set of 37" MTRS, which are a perfect fit.

These wheels came with a story.

Uncle Bernie had purchased the wheels a ways back, from SPUTNIK40. (these were once on his 40)

I gotta say, I am proud to be rolling LTR's old rig on Sputty's old rims.

Both these dude were major influences getting me from the "mall" to the trail, in my land cruiser.
