All right as many of you already know I am not good at writing so please bare with me.
I purchased my 4runner in 2002, i drove it bare stock for about a year. i do not have any pics of it then, but it was red, even the removable top, both front and rear bumpers were rusted bad.
so first i had to paint it, thinking of easy trail fix i painted it olive-drab green. then started on the bumpers, both front and rear are home made.
This is about the time it started to backfire, at first it was just here and there, but then it started backfiring every time i let off the gas.
so after going through the fsm and truck many times it all pointed to the feed back carb, so since i had all of the parts (i thought) to convert it to fuel injection i started stripping, and two years later finally i had the gas tank. and she was running again. pickup gas tanks are different and all my donor parts were from pickups.
O K now some pics.

this is where it got to cold to paint so i will finish it this spring.
a list of mods,
31-10.50 15's
3" rough country lift (springs have already collapsed)
fuel injected 22re
w56 trans
marlin crossover high-steer kit
rebuilt knuckles w/ marlin heavy duty seals

mods to come,
new springs
33" tires
lockers
new seats

all right so i ordered my springs from 4wheel parts yesterday, my pocket book decided that for now procomps is what i need to get it back up and running.
so i ordered new front springs, and a rear add a leaf kit, to hopefully restore my spring arc in the rear.
also i have to say Allen at 4wheel parts was very helpful, i was asking him about the BRC promo card and he said i will do you one better, and gave me free shipping! saved me $75.00 so if any of you are looking to order from 4wheel parts his extension is 5136.

Dig the digital camo. How about telling us how you did it? I saw your other thread on the springs, but did you ever determine whether your frame was tweaked? Cool truck, BTW. My carb is going too and although I've got a spare and I'm going to try that before swapping to EFI, I'm not optimistic about the carb. Any thoughts other than the gas tank issue?

it looks like the frame is fine i have a severely collapsed up spring in the rear. that i need to fix yet, your best bet for converting to fuel injection is to buy a parts truck, the same as yours, do not just convert your engine, get a 22re engine, and use the exhaust down pipe from the 22re, or after market header. pick-up gas tanks will not work in a 4runner.

That looks really good. How much of a lift is that with the Procomps?

I'd go the parts truck route except my motor is rebuilt, so I'd convert it. Actually, the long block is the same between 22R and 22RE (according to the motor gurus like LC and DOA, IIRC) with a couple minor exceptions and one possibly more significant difference, the cam. I'd just swap to EFI and see how the computer likes my aftermarket cam. Good luck with your truck, keep the photos comin'!

Saw your rig up at Rausch Creek for Fall Crawl last year. Good to see the camo getting finished up!
