Hey Greg, this is an inspiring thread. Remembering the first 3FE Bash (you probably can't remember that one ;)) and the side-by-side birf jobs we knocked out in your driveway bring back a lot of great memories. It was an honor to wrench on your truck back in the early days, and it's been fun watching it evolve into the beast it is today. Makes me feel old just thinking about it. Wait....hell, I am old. Which reminds me, say Hi to your Dad--my former classmate at Werner Park Elementary School.

Lee

Lee, Thanks for posting up. Counting you as a friend is one of the best things that has come my way through the cruiser community. Thanks for all the patience in the early days on the 3FE list. Talk about the old days.. hell I can remember when you used to actually post tech!

It made such wierd sense when we figured out that you and Dad went to elementry school together. Don't forget that you prommised me the 40 in your will....

Looking forward to the next time we raise a glass...

Greg,

First time we wheeled together... I mean... drank beer...:D:beer::beer::beer:
Where the hell was OMA in this picture?

Nice, thanks Mark. I'm pretty sure the condition of the trucks tells the story of who wheeled!

I think that's the weekend you sorted out my pesky power door lock issue, which led to: this famous thread.

MARK i WAS JUST GOIN TO GET THAT PICS

Nice rig, Euclid! And great pics! I enjoyed the Trails write-up, too!

Yeah Greg become such a modifying fanatic. he even put a body lift on this garage!

I am not kidding!!

I always said I wouldn't get a snorkle till I needed one. I should have gotten one right before this pic:

That was an epic trip. Too many storys to tell.

Thanks for posting the pics Chris.

Anyone else? I know there's some pics floating out there.
I wanna go back!!!! Congrats Ole' Greg, I love your truck.

Nice truck Greg. Glad you guys wrote the article for Toyota Trails about your Buffalo trip. It gave me the basic info for my two day trek up there right before the crawl. Richland Valley is one of the prettiest pieces of land I have ever seen. Crossing Richland Creek is way more fun than it looks and it looks fun. Can not wait till I can go back.

Great write up and pics. The places our trucks can take us makes for a lot of awesome memories...

Is there a source in the US for those Transmissions still? I would love to stay auto but have something a little more capable than my stock a440.

Very nice. Stock exhaust? Do you have a photo showing how the sliders are attached to the frame?

Hey Greg, great looking truck. Nice and clean with great attention to your mod details. Really nice.

One more to consider is the H55 conversion. Did (HAD) this done recently to my 62 and it's the best mod ever. When your auto goes out......

The rest of this is not LC related. Please pardon me.

When I first opened your thread I IMMEDIATELY recoginzed the bluffs on the buffalo. I'm originally from Arkansas and that's one of the very best places in the state. Love that place and miss it. Hope to be on it when I rerturn at Christmas. Sure wish I had my cruiser to drive on that trip....too far of a drive from Oregon.

Living in Oregon I think I've become more "environmentally conscious" and I gotta tell you that I wasn't crazy about seeing your truck in Richland Creek. I'm real familiar with that river as well and it's a great resource. I know it must have been fun but.......

Off the soap box and again, GREAT looking ride.

One final thing;

Go Hogs....Beat MS State!!

I'm not aware of anyone importing them for resale in the US since slee quit. Having said that, Rodney is very easy to deal with as a customer across the pond. It's a slow process, but if you understand from the get-go that he's a 20 hour plane ride away then buying one directly shouldn't be that bad: Wholesale Automatic Transmissions

The sliders are welded on using the legs that marlin ships. If I were doing it over again I'd ask for a longer leg than normal and put one all the way at the front of the slider into the back of the wheel well. The passenger side slider on my truck flexed enough to bend my rocker.

I moded my exhaust a good while back, and had forgotten about it till you asked. The stock routing of the exhaust between the spring and frame was crap. I had that section cut out re welded it in a different configuration. I measured from the exhaust manifold to the O2 sensors and put them into the newly routed exhaust the same distance as they were origionaly. They are in line with each other. No codes kicked since then. My truck runs a tad rich, but that could just as easily be other mods. Here's some crappy old pics:

Nice looking Truck. I like autos much more offroad as well I couldn't believe the differance it makes going from a 4 speed to an auto. I was curious how does the auto locker do in the rear with the automatic transmission? I've heard there less noticable on road with an automatic? I'm thinking about getting one. I have a v8 and 4l60e auto so I was curious how it has worked out for you over the years. Thanks.

Uh, check out the banner ad here on Mud for Rodney's stuff which is now available from a West coast vendor.

Yes - and I think my fix cost you a case of beer, what was it.. 2 years with out door locks. :D:D:D
