I was looking for any feed back on the Highgear brand "top bunk" roof top tent. It's was sold out of Missouri in the 90's and seems to be very well made. I got some great feed back from Devo regarding his, but looking for pros/cons to the brand. Thanks!

I know that they are no longer making or selling tents. My impression is that they did not last long in the business. I may have some literature stashed in my files somewhere, I'd have to look.

Found this old post on Google

Top Bunk by high gear is no longer made by highgear in Colombia Mo. I aquired the molds from my brother in law and we are starting production of these tops again. With a bit more refinement we hope to have a better product than ever. For more information you can check it out at

Derek,

I didn't see any info on price, weight and dimensions of the Top Bunk on your site - maybe I missed it!

Thanks.

I think that he is probably not r ready to post the price or sell them. these things take time. All he said was that he has aquired the molds. It could be awhile before he is ready to sell them.

but this is great news for people looking at buying a good roof top tent. My friend loves his Top Bunk. And it is amazing how much the top of the bunk looks like the hood of an FJ60.

Yup, that makes sense. Nice to see U.S. made products like these.

my friend Bob (Devodog) Devereux has one. Very well made, plus, the top looks almost exactly like the hood of an FJ60/62. Wish I could find one.

Anyone hear of a High Gear roof top tent?

We are selling our High Gear Top Bunk with "The Works" (white cartop camper, electrical package, wee bunk, 3 Yakima racks, rack locks, ladder, super fan, reading light, heated mattress pad, bed linens).
