Howdy again everyone. After seeing all the pics of your pigs with roof racks, I,m thinking that I need one for mine.

Where can I locate one for a good price ??

Thanks in advance
Bill

Howdy bogus one, Thats a great looking pig. Yes that is the type of rack I was thinking of, but something that will be priced for the common working man on a budget.

Thanks and have a great evening
Bill

Mark's Offroad or DiamondRax probably have what you are looking for if you like mine

Mark may have an original ConFerr (like mine) available in the same size. DiamondRax is making quality reproductions

Thanks for the recommendation, Bogus One!

Here's a link to our website: Roof Racks - DiamondRax - Con-ferr Style

PM me if you're interested.

Just so you know, the correct width roof rack for your rig will be 54".....how long (and tall) you want the rack is up to you.

The Gamiviti roof racks are around 52" and would likely fit well on a 55.

those are nice, if you're going the RTT route

as with anything, you need to ask yourself what purpose you want it to serve

mine has expanded metal floor and sides. it was on the rig when I bought it. I've seen racks like mine without a floor, and can't see how I would be able to make that work. I load bags, chairs, firewood, a small parts box, you name it in mine

True - it is a good option for an RTT, but I don't have one..... I use mine the same as yours - chairs, bikes, wood, etc. Just like any other rack, you just have to have to lash the cargo well and make sure it won't move around.

Build one! Your fab skills are on display when you drive your rig, at least they should be. Thats what make 55 guy different and beter. We don't have a want all catalog to just pick bolt on parts like the FJ Loser guys. Our rigs are a window into our skills.

I need to get rid of mine, that thing is heavy and I never use it anyway...

I am in Houston and I'll sell you mine. I have the rack and the brackets.

PM me or email me at k9crazy at bellsouth dot net.

If he doesn't express interest I might be. Is that a Con-Ferr?

I have no idea what kind it is. I need to look at it. It was suggested at one point that it might be an old wilderness?

k9 im in houston. My buddy will buy it. I saw your rig on craigslist. What the deal? your going to regret it if you let it go.

Yeah, I am going sell it. I will regret it, I am sure, but right now getting together a downpayment on a house is more important. It's just sitting in the garage anyway. I am not going to let it go for cheap, so it might take a while to sell. Maybe I'll put A/C in this fall and see if I want to drive it more then. It's just not fun to sit in it and sweat.

Build a unique rack that sets your rig apart from all others'. That's what this forum is about - helping, building & restoring, not throwing $$$ at prebuilt generic accessories. :)
