I've been looking found a couple with what looks like cheesy hardware
I have no hard top. And it will be a while before I can get one
Any suggestion on a roof rack kit

I would think weld tabs to the rool bar, just as you would weld a tab to the front bar for lights on the front bumper.

etrailer.com has some inexpensive roof racks/roof baskets from good manufacturers.

If you had 4 tabs welded on, you could easily bolt a rack on with some long grade 5 hardware.

This is similar to the tabs I used for the roof rack

In this case I used a tab for my ham antenna. The roof rack tabs are welded the same way. I cut some pieces of conveyor belt to isolate the rack from the cage.

Right on no problem I understand. I cruised one morning me and my boy two big carhart jackets gloves beanies
And lots if ice on the trees. Cold as all could be but memorable times.
I will resend thread when it's nice and warm.

Thnx again

My rack bolts to my external cage with 4 bolts on the front and 4 on the rear. One pair of bolts per section of angle iron (1/4" material).

The cage has 2 pipes that run from the front hoop to the rear hoop.

Side view on a trip to the oz bush. The rack has some 1/2" nominal thickness marine ply. It can and has carried a lot of stuff/weight over many years.

Obviously it's a custom rack and was made to fit.

cheers,
george.
