Roof rack installed, finally.

I wired mine under the hood. I have an LX600 non-hybrid so the battery is under the hood. I assume your LX is a Hybrid?

I used two cable runners on both sides of the windshield because I did not want to drill holes anywhere.

With the roof rack if you're DIY, the hardest part is physically lifting it into place and positioning the stands on the roof rails so everything lines up. Definitely need more than one person.
Got the rack on today! I am kinda curious what path you took with your wires from the wire hide into the engine bay. I see a couple of routes and unsure of the best…. If you have a picture where you pass under the hood that would be great.

At the base of the windshield, there is plastic trim and you can kind of tuck it underneath all of it and stay away from the hood support as much as possible.

I do recall alot of space under all of it.

I'll try and take some pics as soon as I can.

You can kind of see what I did here. Because the battery is in the way, I could not get a better shot, but it's pretty loose at the base of the windshield.

I’m tempted to grab a set of these for winter/long trip wheels. How do you find the on road experience in the Falkens? road noise? comfort?
It's shocking how quiet they are considering how aggressive the tread is.

Comfort it pretty decent, remarkably compliant for a multi ply tire. In the rain, it's amazing. No hydroplaning, even with deep standing water.

Winter could be a touch better, but it's still very good. I feel the Toyo open country *slightly* edges ahead of the wild peak. I went with the Falken because of the long tread life, rain performance, and quiet ride. You halt can't go wrong with either tire

thanks for the detailed observations. Tough to get feedback sometimes and there are so many tires to choose from. I was looking at a less aggressive AT - The Continental Terrain Contact AT’s. i’ll be certainly more road focused but think a little agressive tire would be nice. And PA winters.

Low profile AT tires look pretty insane as well. The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss does everything extremely well and in low profile, looks insane. However you'll be left with sticker shock when you price a set out.

Falkens AT4's were on sale for me and came in at under $320 less than the AT3's at the time. Was a no brainer. Toyo Open Country were a little more price wise. Not sure where the Continentals stand on price, but do look around and read lots of reviews. Good luck!
