Took my roof rack off this weekend for some much needed paint. Bought some end covers off ebay that didnt quite work out.

I have 2 and a half of the old covers still. It appears I have the part number 458221. When I look this up any posts mention a rave 4 or 4 runner. I only saw the one post about it here can anyone confirm also does anyone know the equivalent driver side as thats the one im missing and I cannot find a parts list.

Thanks for the help.

Claude surfaces these OEM-style part numbers for the UZJ100/LX470 rack leg covers:
∙ 63491-60040 — front left
∙ 63492-60040 — front right
∙ 63493-60040 — rear left
∙ 63494-60040 — rear right

…but we don’t know what year your rig is and it’s unlikely you’ll find them. I believe OEM roof racks were a port-installed option, so it’s a little tough resolving part numbers.

I normally would not recommend generic Amazon crap, but in a pinch? They seem to correlate to the part numbers Claude gives.

I appreciate it, I have seen that. A little nervous as the first ones I ordered did not fit. Not sure on the exact part number but a supposed fix for my truck.

Mine is a 2004, I saw mentioned in another thread 458 part numbers. The three I have left all have 458 part bumbers 458221 458226 and 458225.

Im halfway considering just using some spray from to cover the bolts or something and riding with the first two off

These listed above won't fit a 2004 rack, they're too small, the ones we have on the 2004-2005 are bigger, and have a very distinctive shape that makes it easy to identify in a million ebay-amazon adds:

6349260060, 6349160080, 6349460060, 6349360070

Never found them aftermarket, maybe someone is reproducing now, last one I got a couple years ago.

Very expensive piece of plastic, really easy to loose or break when it gets brittle. By the 3rd time I "lost" one (I'm suspecting thievery here since I turn around to check my LC every time I park...) I considered replacing the rack with something else, or an older model rack to have access to the aftermarket pieces. But not sure if an older rack will fit my 2005. Around $100 a piece can get expensive quick.

Those certainly look like the ones, at some point id like another rack but lockers before roof racks right lol.

In all seriousness when camping i carry maxxtrax and a dry bag on the roof that's all I need it for currently there are many things id like to spend money on before a roof rack.

My only worry is why do the part numbers that are physically on mine still not match.

I think im just going tk leave them off for a bit

You mean that the plastic cover that was on the rack when you removed it has different part numbers stamped on the inside? If so, these part numbers might be superseded by other numbers, they do that all the time when they change suppliers.

OR, you have a different year rack, very possible if one previous owner took it off, and other installed a used one on there.. maybe even a rack that came from a different car and retrofitted it to work on an LC?

I'm sure there were lots of roof rack models installed during the 9-10 year life of the 100 series, specially since it sold in a bunch of different markets, I mean look at rims and center caps.. BUT if the old plastic covers you got on there now fit fine, and they have that "crease" along the "shoulder", it means that you have the most expensive ones.. Not a good thing in a part that can fly off in a carwash..

Oh, don't forget that if you have the 6 legged rack, there's Another 2 covers there, also fly easily, also expensive for what they are..
Suddenly a rack-less 2004 and newer LC isn't a bad idea.. or an aftermarket rack that might never be used as intended.. OR, just go w/o covers, but it doesn't look right, and after a while you'll start looking to "complete" the look.
