Alright folks...a little update for those looking to make the pilgrimage...

We're hitting the reset button this year bringing things back to the basics...due to the need to change of venues, we've had to restructure how we were doing things this year. BFE was on private lands which allowed us some more flexibility on how we did things.

This year we'll be on BLM or State Land Trust lands and will be a lot more laid back than years past. Everyone will be camping and wheeling on your own schedules. If you are looking for trail suggestions, feel free to pick our brains or many other experienced brains out there.

Meet new friends, catch up with old friends...key is to have fun, enjoy the area whether it's in your truck, on a dirt bike, on a mountain bike, on two feet or kicked back in a camp chair...

Remember... STAY THE TRAIL and LEAVE NO TRACE! Let's keep our trails open and our lands beautiful.

Main Camping areas:

Camping by the Dunes (free), 38.418226, -109.465427

Camping at Ken's Lake (first come first serve, camping fees apply), 38.476652, -109.422331

Camping at the Ledge along Kane Creek Rd (BLM camping fees apply), 38.484572, -109.605764

we're looking to keep the group contained to 3 locations. camp locations here

the sites by behind the rocks will be a main site and there are some looking to stay at ken's lake as the second main site. if needed, the ledge is a great alternative to hold a lot of campers close to each other.

we've had to restructure how we're doing rock therapy this year and will be less structured than years past. we encourage everyone to branch out and meet new people. see what people are planning to run and build a trail run (keep at 10 or less vehicles).

every evening come back to have some beverages and hang out by some camp fires to plan out the next day.

it will be more of a true gathering of wheelers vs an off-road event.

Wait what? T Shirts........ :broccoli:

Alright folks this is going to be down and dirty and quick. T Shirts can be ordered NOW!

MOAB 2017

BUT
... we have some changes this year so READ this first please.

  • Very short time frame to order. The campaign is open now until 10/04/17. That's it!
  • All deliveries will be directly to your home. We will not have them at Rock Therapy. Therefore there will be shipping added to the cost of your shirt when you check out.
  • Estimated shipping on the website is "auto-populated". I was assured that they will deliver prior to departure to attend RT.
  • Cost - Yes we know it higher. Unfortunately we cannot anticipate a high number of purchases to be able to buy down into a lower bracket. Good news is... shirts are optional and entirely up to you if you want one.
  • Colored shirts in "slim fit". This is really more of a nicer, softer, cotton, up your size by 2 if you want it to fit loose like a regular shirt.
Happy shopping People!

if anyone is interested in checking out some old Native American ruins, i'll take a group into Beef Basin Thursday or Friday... plan for a full day and make sure you're topped off with gas.

there's large camping area in the State Land Trust area by the dunes across 191 from the Area BFE road that we'll be looking to take over. It is a first come first serve and free camping. i will get there tuesday and if it's open enough to fit the large group, i'll head down to town and get some porta johns sent over there.

The other location that some of the group will be looking to take over is Kens lake. it is a first come first serve BLM campground with fees. there is a higher chance of having people occupying these sites already, so we may be limited on the number of people who will be able to camp there for the week. it's a nice location though for anyone looking to stay closer to town and a bit more established campground.

if the dunes are full for some reason, the backup large dispersed camping option will be along kane creek rd at the ledge. this is now a fee BLM campground, but there are some free dispersed spots just past the main camping area as well that people can take.

I'm planning to pull in Moab on Tuesday night as well. Been thinking about checking for a spot at Sand Flats but I'd rather camp with some of the RT group so it's easier to coordinate trail rides and such. Maybe I'll head out to the Dunes and try to find ya!
