Got a call from the machine shop today. Apparently there was a blockage to the head and it wasn't getting any oil up top. Exhaust valve siezed, piston broke and metal pieces scored up the cylinder. Engine is most likely salvageable with a sleeve. However, I need to source a rocker assembly. Figured I'd post here first. Let me know if you've got something. It's for a 2F out of a '76 FJ40.

YOur rocker assembly isn't/wasn't what was wrong.. what was wrong is someon put the rocker assembly back together incorrectly. The oil travels from the cam bearing (which can be put in wrong) up to the head, thru the head gasket (which can be put in backwards blocking passage) thru the rocker pedistal (which can be put in wrong place one in 4 chance if I recall) thru the rocker arm shaft (which can be put together backwards) then dribbles out the rockers. LOTS of places to make a mistake.

I probably have what you need sitting there as my spare. actually I know I have one sitting there waiting for a 3f/2f build but sounds like you need it more than me. If nobody has one out of a salvage block let me know.. That sucks cause I just scrapped 2 blocks and that's about the only thing I kept.
I can probably look later this week I think i know where it's at.

I'll probably have some time in the garage on Sunday if you respond to this thread and need the assembly. Pretty sure I know exactly where it's at.

Thanks Erik. I think I have a lead on one from Trollhole. He should be in touch with me soon. I'll post again if that falls through.

If not lemme know.. I know Jobe pulled a 2f the other day as well that was toast. so we can probably get you one somewhere local.
