My rocker arms are touching the head cover and causing what you see in the pictures. I loosend the head cover even more and im still hearing the valves hit, does anyone know what does this? Its a 92 22re with a brand new head.

Check your valves. Then install the valve cover and tighten to about 12 inch pounds IIRC.

I think i have it a bit less tight than 12 on the head cover, i just made 2 half turns for each nut. The valves on the intake are at .008 and the exaust is at .012. So I think im just gonna take it to a mechanic who knows heads really well.

I had similar issue; at least I thought I did.
It turned out to be a broken tappet that cracked in half and stayed in place.

Look at the inside of the valve cover for contact with your rockers.

Good luck

Color me stupid but I don't see the 'problem'. Show us the contact areas on the valve cover, please.

Ya I don't see the problem either, other than somebody using the wrong tools when adjusting the valves.

If it really is hitting, then you need a new gasket. They get smashed flat with age and overtorquing the acorn nuts.

Just barley tighten the 4 acorn nuts. This is of course after putting in a lightly oiled rubber gasket, that has a properly seated half moon gaskets, with a little rtv at the corners.

The rocker arms should not touch the valve cover baffle. Something is not seated correctly.

It is the marks an inch away from the nuts, its a brand new head with the original rocker arms.. I didn't know if something was off in tht area or not. I think it scraped when I tightened the valves; lol I lost my size 12 wrench a rookie mistake.
