Question for the community… while it’s common to see FJs built to maximize tire clearance for off-road use, any thoughts on what modifications would need to be done to give the FJ a lowered stance as seen in this photo?

I suspect nothing other than careful driving and extended limiters/bumps - looks a bit like just oversize tires at factory height.

Would be a level-surface rig, though, with rather limited tire clearance.
Agreed. Would have to be a level surface setup.

That said, I would assume these are 33’s? Couldn’t imagine it’d be possible to fit 35’s with a stock ride height.

I dont hate this. I think it works because of the perception of the windshield being down has on the beltline, and the wider stance of the tires. Without either of these, this would look terrible.
