rich running 22re...

i have an 87 runner 22re that i believe is running rich... i believe this because when i pulled out my plugs to look at them, they were carbon coated... they look like the plugs from my harley... is there a way to check to see if it is running rich? no check engine light, and fairly new 02 sensor... ideas are welcome

A little grey or tan build up is normal, but if you have black sooty stuff on the plugs or in your tail pipe, that would mean rich... I'd check the codes anyway. Link in FAQ thread...

it does have black soot on it, and the tail pipe... ill check to see if there are any and ill post back

trouble codes, 2,7,8, and 11... i reset the computer and tried again and all i got that time was 11... i also checked the resistance of my afm as stated in haynes, and its within spec... ideas?
