Hi guys

After some opinions on what to do next with my reverse lights system , I'm stumped.

1991 SWB 70 with 12HT H55F trans 24V system. All rear lights work except reverse. Have checked all fuses with multimeter and they're fine. Swapped out rear light control relay and still no go. Pulled loom apart in engine bay and plugged in a spare gearbox loom with reverse switch attached. 2 wires going in to plug, both have 24V reading at the plug and switch? I'm confused? I thought one would have had 24V and the other 0V and when the switch engaged the circuit would be complete to turn on the reverse lights? Still with 24V on each wire both shouldn't the lights be on all the time? with 24V at each wire the plug can't do anything? I think somethings really wrong. I rewired this Cruiser with a complete 24V loom from a 13BT Cruiser , was originally a 12V system

Also worth noting obviously I have checked and have no voltage at rear light plug with good ground with gearbox in reverse & ignition and lights on

Not the biggest electrical guru but trying to learn.

Cheers and appreciate any help in advance

Also , I've been through genuine toyota manual and can't find any help on the reverse lights. It just said to check relay and fuses and grounds.

I wish I could help mate. I just put an auto trans in my HZJ75. I didn't realise I'd need part of the gearbox loom for the reverse lights and chucked it out. If you work out which wires/ plug it goes to I'd love to hear about it ;-)
