Experiencing some clicking noise coming from the front driver-side on my LX470 (with AHC). Also, hard to describe... occasional "loosey goosey" feeling particularly when coming to a stop... kinda like the wheels come to a stop and then the body lurches forward ever-so-slightly. So I took to a shop with a lift to see if they can diagnose. Here's a link to a video of the source of the noise:

Here's the diagnosis: Found the noise to be from the driver side body mount (behind front wheel). Using the chassis ears I was able to check the steering rack, front diff mount, sway bar, shocks, and control arms. But once we had the chassis ears on the body mount, the noise was very clear though the chassis ear. We did find one of the front diff mounts loose and creating a noise. Was able to tighten but the bushing for the diff is now in question as well. Inspecting the mount its very clear that the mount has a large space from the nut to the bottom of the bushing(10mm); especially compared to the passenger side (8mm). Its also beginning to tear.

Here's the recommendation: REPLACE BROKEN FRAME MOUNTS BEHIND THE FRONT WHEELS AND AT THE VERY REAR OF THE BODY TO FRAME MOUNTS ( THIS INCLUDES ALL NEEDED REMOVAL AS NEEDED FOR BRAKE LINES, FUEL LINES, A/C SYSTEM AND SO ON )

I searched this forum but didn't find much on the subject, but did find a relevant post over on the 80 forum. Apologies if this has been covered here already.

When I talked to them they said the labor is super intensive because of everything they have to remove/detach in order to lift the body off the frame. So I guess my question is regarding whether they actually need to do all that removal or if it's possible to replace the mounts without having to do all that (and therefore avoid incurring the crazy high labor fee). They said over on the 80 forum it's not necessary on the 80 series but that AHC on the 100 might complicate things. So I am curious if anyone can shed some light on this topic.

Looks like you could just pull the bolt out from the footwell floorboard, replace the mount, and reinstall...

A little upward pressure with a jack on the body near the ear would give a bit more space to squeeze the new mount/cushion in.

Several folks on here have installed body lifts and can give first hand experience. (I'm not one.)
