That's where I was getting the $500 too

To be honest, I've been swayed towards the OME setup that many of you have suggested; light in the front, medium's in the rear. This should keep it "close" to stock in appearance while allowing me to haul gear, tow the raft, etc., without issue.

This is an awesome choice - it will drive/handle better than when new.

any idea where in the US i would be able to buy front and rear leaf spring for FJ62 with the original specs, not lifted

Welcome @NYCFJ!

Take a look at the SOR.com "Grocery Getter" lift kit. It is supposed to be close to stock height.
