I ordered the below but they really have no instructions beyond a video on a late 90’s Camry. Has anyone successfully used one of these and can share how to program before I return? My old fob is taped together and no hole left for a keychain. This seemed like an easy solution but maybe not ?

Without knowing what system you currently have, it's hard to know. There were at least 2 different dealer installed security systems that were used in the 90s. The RS3000 manual is in the resources section, but I'm not certain of the other one.

The smart thing to do is remove the current 30+ year old unit and replace with new.

For better responses to your questions add your vehicle specifics to your "signature", specifically model year/engine. There are many differences between years.

Based on the pictures you posted posted of 91-94 models, the security system used was the TVSS - Toyota Vehicle Security System. All port/dealer installed alarms have the main unit installed under the drivers seat. You need to verify that. When finding a new remote you need to match the FCC on the main unit or existing key fob to a new fob.

You should be able to Google to find a manual.

Personally I would not waste my money on that alarm. Its 30 years old, prone to failure with very poor range.

Don’t thanks. I figured out it’s an old Python system. I will eventually just replace the system and deal with my one working fob for now
