22R Carburetor FAQ

And the FAQ itself...

https://forum.ih8mud.com/2089554-post4.html

I got a GP Sorensen kit ala AutoZone (IH8 AutoZone)... for $30.

Napa is supposed to have the best but you'll need a tag # which I didn't have...

Ok, just got off the phone with Toyota, they want $80 for the bimetal vacuum switching valve... and $50 for the 3 hole AAP diaphragm...

Can I just block the end of the AAP off?

And how can I bypass the BVSV and what all does it effect? It's the 3 prong one you can't look at with out breaking and it sits in the middle of the manifold...

I've seen this 22R Carburetor FAQ

but I guess I need some reassurance and directions since I don't mess with these systems much...

The APP should be in a carb rebuild kit... which should be less than $30...

well... don't think I'll bypass it...

GP sorensen Autozone Aisin carb rebuild kit: $32 P# 96-615B

Napa AAP diaphragm: $15 P# 2-4014

In one of those links above, a guy says after his rebuild, he got 4 more MPG.... WOW!

As long as you don't have my luck, and don't snap every skrew off... you should be fine w/ a rebuild.

Sounds totally worth it.

Get a 2nd carb and rebuild it if you can't handle down time.

A word on smog, but 1st, don't put Weber stickers all over your truck if you live in Cali...:p

Now. Emissions, to my knowledge is just unburned fuel.

If I wanted to run a Weber, I would. But I'd also get the hottest coil I could find... to burn up as much fuel as possible b/f it left the chamber.

Now I don't know anything about gaping plugs, but I'm sure that can play a part as well.

So, if you get a Weber, and live in the free world under gobbermental emissions requirements, get a hotter coil.

I don't know for sure but I doubt they visually inspect for carbs.
