Replace 2 or all 4 tires?

I've been running with two front/ two rear (DUH!) with about 15-20K difference on the mileage after a sidewall slice in DV way back in 2006. Replaced the one tire back then.

No known issues in the past almost 3 years with different tread depth on the two pairs.

That being said, even if I went with the same tire replacement this summer, I'd replace all four an keep the two better ones as spares...just in case I decide I want to slice another side wall somewhere!
 
i say buy 2 that match the 3 good ones. If money is a issue look in the classifieds. I got a awesome deal on 4 tires.
 
I can tell you from experience that if you have four tires that are significantly worn, and have a blow out, and replace only that tire with a new one, you get lots more driveline rumble. A couple of months later, add three more new tires and the rumble is reduced dramatically.

Evidently having tires that differ enough in circumference can cause issues.
