Repacement CV Axle Assembly

Try this place www.sdtruckshop.com. I think I paid $150 to have one of my half shafts swapped on my 92 pickup. I could have sworn it was a remanufactured shaft.

I have two used 4runner cv assembles. One is already mounted to my rig. The second I carry for trail repair. I searched high and low and could not find any rebuilt or after market shafts. I was not willing to send $400 on a new one. I picked up an '05 low miles for $125 mounted on DS came from PS, and my spare '04 100,000 miles for $100.
The one thing I would really like to find is a split cv boot kit that works with this axle. Just in case I rip one on a trail. Do any of you know of one?

For those tracking the aftermarket supply, when I spoke to Parts Train last year, they indicated that the remanufacturing industry is typically 4-5 years behind new models. Most don't break until a few years of use and it takes these guys a while to catch up, I guess. One guy I spoke to said they'd be happy to start production on one if I was to send them an OEM assembly for them to spec. That's definitely not in my plans.

I went with local dealer and paid $330 for the peace of mind. Got the CV assembly, extra boot kits, seals, etc... I'd also recommend tie rods (one for each side), spare control arm bolts, shock mount bolts, lug nuts, and wheel studs for your trail kits too. Most of these are low dollar insurance.
