I never use the 3rd row seats and would like the extra room to haul stuff. Is there a clean and somewhat easy way to remove all traces of the 3rd row seats of a US spec LX570? Has anyone done it yet?

chimyz did it in his LC. It's not 100% all traces gone but it looked fine, especially since no one will be back there to notice ;)

On the LX570, it's not as easy as the LC200 due to the power folding seats.

I've once had one adult passenger back there and he said he was comfortable enough. But can't imagine having two people in that little space. Maybe I'll remove one seat .....

It's actually 3 seats in the back :)

I took the third row seats out

I took the third row seats out of my 2010 LC. I had a custom mat made to cover the carpet. It freed up a lot of space.

There were holes left in the cargo carpet floor. The bolts screwed back in to cover the holes but the bolts were visible through the holes in the carpet.

The custom cover dressed the cargo area back up.

I would love to...I just don't think my kids would be comfortable....

JAFilelds, what did you do with the hole on the side panels? I cut circular pieces of black Gorilla tape to cover them up. I cut a piece of carpet to cover the cargo floor. Who did you get the custom covers from?

Third row removal

MM,

I had a template made of the cargo area (pager traced then used to make a cardboard cutout). Then we used the template to cut a mat. The traces of the third seat removal on the rear wheel wells (bolts exposed) are covered by the Orvis dog mat (medium) that is fleece on one side and mat padded on the reverse ( and washable). The dogs are happy and I do not see the exposed bolts. The floor bolts are covered by the first or base mat.

The first mat is cargo liner stuff (pickup trucktype) that is washable and flexible. The holes in the floor carpet, after removing the seats, were filled with cargo liner material-cut to fit with the same paper trace.

A lot more room. Toyota should have a plan for this.

I can throw muddy dogs and gear back there and easily clean up. On Monday at the office no one has a clue.......

I took out all the rear seats because I'm the only one who uses the LC and I use it for hauling tools around. I left the rear seat hardware intact as it makes a good tie-down device for securing cargo. I am thinking about replacing the front seats as well. The front passenger and driver seat each weigh at least 80 pounds each. I'd like to find a lighter one for each side. The electric seats as is aren't that comfortable imho and also the motor mechanisms aren't working as new.

Yes I did it (dealer pulled them before I picked it up)

Contrary to nimrod dealer's "don't come out", unbolted the flanges and presto...they're out - new 2015.

Cut an old rubber floor mat to fill gaposis on the floor and still thinking on the wheel well openings.

Just took mine out yesterday too. Very easy.

Considering pulling the rear lap belts out too, at least the ones on the side. I wonder if it would set off any alarms, or turn on any lights?

My 3rd row seat belts are removed including the belt-roll mechanism behind the side paneling.
-No warning light issues at all.
