After 4 hours plus of reinstalling the complete hardtop on my son's 1972 FJ40, I have to think there is a better way.

He pulls it each summer for half doors and bikini top,( using rope under the sides and front of the fiberglass roof) and a series of pulleys to lift it and store, then we need three of us to place it on the tubb and gaskets.

I can't for the life of me see a different approach and haven't found any described methods using search.

How the hell do you guys get 'er done?

Thanks for the assist.

i solved that problem years ago and had a landcruiser for summer and another for winter never worried about the top

We kept having a seal roll out in the Driver's side rear corner. Up & down, rinse, repeat! I guess I'm gettin' too da@n old!

Still, I'd love to see some hoisting arrangements.

For the seals use black electrical tape to hold in place, put top down then rip tape flush. For raising and lowering I have an overhead Crain so can’t give good advice how to do that without but it takes me and my 10 year old maybe 15 minutes. And we don’t run with all the bolts.
