Hello,

I have a 2015 LX with factory installed remote start, I want the app. Would I need to un-install what I currently have to install the 12v solutions setup?

Thank you,

Brett
You'd have to ask the 12V guys about that. They're usually quick to respond to emails.

If it's factory, my bet is you'd have to uninstall and reinstall the 12V setup.

Yes, it's what ever was installed by Lexus/dealer back in the day. 12v said I need to remove old, I just don't know what box/location to find the previous modular. I was assuming that most LXs had this factory installed and that there are a few that have upgraded.

Thanks

Remote start was common enough I’d try to find an install video or write up for information on location and appearance of the module.

Here is 12V's most recent reply, anyone have input/experience?

Hi Brett,

Most of the time with newer vehicles, there is a 7.5amp fuse that you can remove to program our module and then pop the fuse back in. Some older vehicles have a physical remote start unit behind the glove box that needs to be removed or at least unplugged.

Following... I have a 2009 with remote start, but I bought the 12volt solution because I wanted the app support. Want to know how to disable the factory system if I have to.

I found this installation guide for the factory system for a newer LC200. TOYOTA PT398-60080 INSTALLATION MANUAL Pdf Download - https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1063096/Toyota-Pt398-60080.html

I wonder if my remote start system is in the same place (on the side of the center console, under the carpet in the passenger side footwell) and if it's just a matter of unplugging it?
So installed the 12v system. When I tried to start the two systems would fight each other(relays clicking, lights, brief starter crank) and would not start. I uninstalled the system above(thank you for the link) as everything was exactly where it is in the diagram(including the zip ties).
I first tried by just removing the main computer but no luck, had to take out the glove box and remove the entire system.
The 12v Solutions is much nicer, 15 minute run time, less lights flashing while running and the app on my phone is excellent(lock/unlock, GPS location and easy to start from my office(LX is park in underground garage).

As a note(if anyone has trouble) after I uninstalled I had issues with my amp(no volume). I had to unplug the Multi-Display Controller under the passanger seat, start the truck, put stereo to' Disc' and plug back in. Immediately fixed. May have just been an issue for me, took 3 hours to diagnose and 20 minutes to fix.

Excellent info. Is the 12Volt system easy to install?

A few panels and a few plugs, super easy. Here's a some visuals that someone put online(Lx570 FB page)
