I want to add a kill switch, my thought is the switch will control a relay.

Is a 10a relay on the engine circuit the way to go or is there a better way to do it?

Should I specifically target the ignition.

I like the idea of cranking when kill switch is off blowing the horn. May wire that up too.

Thanks,

E-

I just ran a 14AWG wire pair from one of the low voltage coil wires, under the truck then up into the cab to a simple hidden switch. No relays and nothing fancy. Worked flawlessly for 35 years

This was my solution. I could have used just a toggle switch but figured I'd get lazy and stop using it. This needs to be reset each time you start the car and goes open when you turn the car off.

And here’s what I use on my 40 & my 60. FLAMING RIVER cut off switch that also uses a padlock for additional security.

It installs in the positive battery cable. After install, turn the handle & it disconnects the starter from the battery, with the padlock you get a bit more security.

My switch just breaks the ground connection on my ground wire on the electric fuel pump. Ive been meaning to add one for ignition too
