recommend Jackson area shop??

Hi, guys

I got Mr. Price's black 80 and have put many many miles on it since. Saying that, the small oil leak is now a full blown hemorrhage...I am very very busy with rotations and working at night so, I don't have time to mess with it too much - can anyone recommend a reliable, trustworthy shop that can fix an oil leak during the week. In the Jackson area, of course.

I took my 2000 LC to Integrity Auto on Old Highway 49. They did a good job and the prices were reasonable. They were recommended to me from a friend who has had his LX serviced there for the past 100K miles without any problems. I had the fluids baselined, water pump, and timing belt changed for less than 1000.00.

With that being said, Chris over at 49 Tire, as mentioned above, installed some new tires and wheels for me a couple of weeks ago and was very helpful. He gave me a deal and shot the sh*t while they were doing the work.

Don't think you will go wrong with either.

I'm fairly certain that one leak is coming from either the oil pump seal or the hex screw thing below it. There is definately oil coming from there. Other than that, I haven't the time or a decent area to investigate much further to see if there are more leaks.

Its gotten to like, 1 quart per week now - ha... Seems like every trip from oxford to jackson worsens it just a hair more

I will go by 49 tire Mon or Tues of this week - thanks for the suggestion, I hope they do more than just tires.

most people's oil pump seal issues ends up being the dizzy O ring.... which is right above the oil pump seal... I'd do that easy task before the oil pump seal... which, a mechainc may not do the oil pump seal like people on mud do it, so it might end up being a $4 part and a $1000 bill just replace that seal.

I did both mine recently and a frined did his dizzy o ring... both got same results.

Probably because you are going to Oxford! That is a Miss State truck.

Recomend 49 tire. I know the 2 main mechanics that work on cruisers there and they are both good. Chris and his guys won't tell you they can do something they aren't comfortable doing.

Yeah, I brought it to leave in Oxford during spring break (yeah, I'm almost 30 and get a spring break) and some knucklehead's lawnmower threw a rock through the rear quarterpanel glass (sliding window)...

So, I found a place that is putting the window in and supposedly doing the oil pump (cruiserhead way) after I printed out the photos and instructions posted on this site on how to remove it easily (or easier than the 15 service hours the FSM recommends). He is supposed to call me tomorrow (wed) and let me know how it goes....If he can't hack it - I'll be on my way to Jackson Friday and am gonna try to get it to 49 tire if I can borrow a ride for a few days from family member or something, hah.
