Reckon I ain't quite so eager right now. In less than 5 hours I'm gonna be havin' laser beams blastin' away at my eyeballs. :eek:

A dam-scary thought if your sober at all.

I ain't actually gettin' the LASIK procedure. It won't fix my eyes. I'm gettin' some other kinda laser deal. The good news is that it's statistic'ly safer than LASIK ... the bad news is it takes a few more days to recover from it. So I'm gonna be stumblin' 'round blind in my apartment for a few days. :meh:

mine was a different kind of surgery too, but can't remember what. got back to romer's where i was staying and slept long and hard, but the next morning i had like a supervision where everything far away was right in front of me. that went normal later on in the day. i was supposed to avoid computer screens for a few days and had the halo effect when night driving for a couple months. all i remember was the machine was based on a carl zeiss design and i though that was cool since i used to use zeiss camera lenses in high school:D

Hope ya don't mind me movin' your quote to this thread Fireman ... figured I'd keep all the updates located in one spot for future reference. :meh:

After the procedure, the doc put clear contact lenses in my eyes to act like a band-aid for my corneas. I went in last week and got those out and got my first follow-up exam. He says my eyes are recoverin' perfectly! :cheers:

He also says I won't have 90% of my vision for 6 weeks (from procedure date) and then the final 10% for 6 months. He seemed to have forgotten to mention that timeframe in the consultation visit. :rolleyes:

Anyways ... my vision is gettin' better slowly. I can certainly see well enough to function. I just have periods that are more blurry and periods that are less blurry. What's cool though is I have brief periods of intense clarity. Doc says that's the level of my vision when it's said and done so I'm excited. And it's really, REALLY cool not to wear fawkin' glasses after all these years!! :bounce2::clap::bounce2:

Meanwhile ... I spent this mornin' at the dentist's office. He yanked one of my lower front teeth that was jacked up next to the ones that are missin. Tree took out three, he took out one. Made a mold deal to fab me up a partial bridge to cover all four. While he was rootin' 'round in there, he yarded out my two lower wisdom teeth too. Says process of gettin' my new teeth's gonna take 'bout a month.

BTW ... for all those encouragin' me to get implants ... he wouldn't do it. Said my jaws so jacked up from the wreck that my s***'s gonna be movin' 'round for a coupla years. :meh:

don't know if he mentioned it, or if it's maybe part of your blurry issues, but when your eyes get tired, your vision can get blurry. my eye doc said that lots of computer time causes your eyes to get tired and recommended taking breaks every few hours. i also keep a bottle of thera tears and when spending a good evening of drinking, use the gel overnight to keep my eyeballs from dryin' out.

I'm still on prescription eye drops as well as the artificial tears. :cool:

Just gotta deal with the blurry stuff once in awhile ... ain't no way I'm stoppin' surfin' porn. :grinpimp:

no, just usually go to bed and wake up to dry crusty feeling eyes...that dang gel is expensive. 'bout$15 for a 2"x1/2" tube:rolleyes:

the disadvantage to heavy drinking with eye surgery...the surgery usually makes dry eye worse, alcohol makes it much worse. i say that as i'm drinking a cap'n and coke.:D

kowboy, go to porno mags...books/mags don't tend to hurt the eyes like computer screens.
 
So last Wednesday I went back to the neck doctor for a check up. He looked at the x-rays and said all was good and I didn't have to wear my neck brace no more. I didn't bother to tell 'im I ain't worn it in 6 weeks since I saw 'im last time. :grinpimp:

He also gave me a release for work with no restrictions. :cool:

And yesterday afternoon I go see the Fella for the first fittin' of my new teeth. First thang I notice is there's 5 of 'em. :lol::lol:

Dentist's pretty confused by the whole deal and starts cypherin' out how many teeth I got versus how many teeth I need versus the 5 in the partial bridge they made for me. :confused::hmm::confused:

While he's studyin' up on that ... the sexy lil' assistant lady jams the thang in my mouth and hands me a mirror.

Looks GREAT!! Nice dingy yellow color to match the rest of my choppers ... but unlike my original ones, these ain't all crooked! :clap:

So back to the lab they go for the final product to be manufactured. I'll pick 'em up soon as I get back from my time-off at the Redneck Gig. :cool:

Then the dentist proclaims that I been missin' a tooth since birth and that 5 is the correct replacement number. :rolleyes:

I recon I'd be a little concerned with folks jamming "things" in my mouth but I'm glad you are getting some new choppers! Seems fittin' to not have them till after the Crawl though. At a redneck gig there has to be at least 1 person without all his teeth! See ya in a few days.
