The front two door speakers have been doing a good job for the last couple of years but decided to add on to the stereo.

It was hard to find info regarding what exactly would fit behind the stock grill on a 97 model so I took a chance on these and it worked out. You have to use the factory plastic spacer and bend a small piece of the door panel back but that about it.

Old vs. new:

This is the plastic spacer ring I was talking about, just undo this one screw and pop the old speaker out. Then remove all the material inside the main ring so the new speaker can fit inside

I desoldered the factory connection and resoldered it back to the new speaker

Pic of the bend in the door I made. This just gives the terminals space as to not make contact with the door panel

Installed, window test complete

My factory steering wheel was beyond gross/destroyed by the sun(how my dash is still perfect I don't know but not complaining)

Carters Customs is 20 min away and that was always my plan when I got around to it. Until I stumbled on this:

I figured I would give it a go for $60 bucks and if I ended up hating it I would drop it off at Carters.
It wasn't too hard just a little tedious, but once you got in a groove it was easy to just keep going.
A couple pointers that I discovered, too late, are to not use the double sided tape so you can make small adjustments as you're moving along. Secondly, is to start the stitching effort on the parts you can see from sitting in the seat. Some of my start/stop points at the spokes are a little shifted off and because I started on the bottom of the spoke I can see my mistakes while just driving.
They are minimal and most likely just my minor OCD having issues with it.
The results are a night and day difference while saving a few bucks and being able to say I have still done everything on this rig since I bought it.

Followed Joey's thread for making my old hazard switch control my garage door opener (his pictures were better so I repurposed them)

And lastly pulled the first 2 rows of seats and laid sound deadening foam with the layer of butyl while I wait for new carpet to show up this week

I finally got a little time off from traveling for work and was able to stay home for the month of December. Which means I knocked out a ton of honey-do's and spent a few days in the garage.

My sliders have been sitting in the shelf for probably close to 2 years, so I randomly decided to get them welded up and onto the rig

I also bought some tent brackets from Uptop Overland that makes quick work of latching on the tent. It takes a little bit to get them just right but once installed you can lower the tent and install 3 screws per side and be done. Much simpler than installing the saddle clamps around the rack.

If I remember correctly the brackets raise the tent up a half inch, which worked out and gave me a little extra clearance for my gmrs antenna.

And I'm at maximum height to still be able to get in and out of the garage with the tent on and highway pressure in the tires
