I believe rhe 4cyl will be fine. V6 calipers just have 4 larger pistons and the 4cyl ones have two big and two smaller ones. Both are 4 piston calipers. I believe the rotors are the same for both.

The v6 will likely give slightly better performance since they have the slightly larger second set of pistons, but I suspect not enough to fool with right now. Might be a good upgrade in the future, when it is time to do brakes again.

The calipers need to match the master cyl. 84-86 calipers use a 13/16 master, 87-91 4cyl use a 7/8 master, 89-95 v6 use a 1" master

92-95 4cyl could be the big brakes, or could be the small brakes.

Also watch out, many 93-95 4 runners had t-100 brakes.

With all that said, yes you can keep your 87 calipers as long as you don't upgrade the master cyl

Alright thanks for the info guys. Another thing I noticed was a tiny bit of rust on the knuckle ball on the passanger side. I figured I could just take some very fine sandpaper to it to take it off? I don't see how this would mess anything up, especially if I do it by hand. But any input would be appreciated. I'm just waiting, should be able to order everything for the sas late this week, or early next week. List includes:
3 inch trail gear sas kit
Bearings and inner seals frome marlin
1200 lb clutch kit from marlin
Rear axle bearing and seal kit (haven't decided where to get marlin or tg?)
Brake pads (auto parts store)
Rear shocks (12 inch?)
Rear extended brake line
Things that don't have anything to do with sas:
Aisin water pump
Gm alt swap
Bed bob
rhino line inside cab
Lighting for inside of cab
Any opinions are appreciated
