Rebuild cost

Took my 1994 to Tony @ JPR in Vegas He quoted me $7500 to remove, rebuild and replace. He does good work. Rig had 240K miles and bad head gasket and a valve issue. Figured I would start fresh on a rust free nice rig.

Does that include all OEM parts ?

yes, All OEM. It will be more as I asked for all hoses to be replaced as well.

This quote is also for a rebuild of my engine, which is in good shape, and would be of course more it the rebuild required more machine work. I had the head decked, bottom end was good. So all new parts and a decked head. Should be back together shortly.

PS had to get new Cats as someone cut them out!

$5000 for top end rebuild here in SoCal. New head, head bolts, gasket set, machine work, bunch of other misc thing like hoses, plugs, etc. But I didn’t do any of the work, just cut a check.

For us other SoCal guys, can you tell if you've been happy with the work now that some years have passed? Also, what shop was it, please? Thanks.

That’s a crazy price good for you! Up in the PNW shops quote 15-20k for that. He isn’t going to be making a lot of money off you but long as both parties are happy everyone wins!
