So I ran into a problem yesterday. I was trying to put a rear wiper on my '91 HZJ77. (The Japanese seem to have a thing for removing them.) When I tried removing the knob they had on it, the threaded post from the motor sheared off. Additionally, when I tried to remove the nut and washer that go between the body and the wiper arm, the whole threaded collar was so rusted that my attempts to remove it resulted in the threaded collar becoming damaged to a point that I can't reuse it. N

I did not think much of it, as there are parts stores all around here that I can order from. Unfortunately when my wife went to order the part today, the guy at the store said the motors are no longer stocked or manufactured. Is there an alternative option? The part number on the original motor is 85110-90K06. It is a 24v motor. I am not sure if the threaded collar that goes through the rear door panel is a part of the motor assembly or if it has it's own part number.

Anyone have any solutions to this problem?

Unfortunately I checked with my local auto parts store and they said that both part numbers (85110-90K06, 85130-60140) are no longer manufactured. I'm checking the 2 links above, and MegaZip as well to see if I can get them still.

Worst case , I'll try to find a used one somewhere.

Bit of advice,

If @beno says it is available, it is.

He is the Land Cruiser parts guru.

Just cause whomever says it is not doesn’t mean it really is available.

Beno has got me parts nobody else can.

@beno I checked my local auto parts store in Okinawa, and he said he couldn't get the part. Do you have a source that I can use? I have JP-carparts searching and another source...no responses yet.
 
So after trying local sources here in Okinawa, as well as attempting to order from JP-carparts.com and awamara.com, I've pretty much been told by everyone that both part numbers (85110-90K06, 85130-60140) are out of production. I found a website called euro 4x4 parts that has their own part #LEI1006 that they are saying replaces 85110-90K06. Anyone have any experience with them?

I bought few times from them, within europe was fast postage. not everything is original, but they state that on the website.
another ok website is roughtrax in uk.
 
Just received notification from euro4x4parts that the rear wiper motor is no longer manufactured. Time to search the classifieds!
 
Does the LJ78 have a rear wiper and is it perhaps a different part number?

The part numbers are different. Is the LJ78 12v or 24v? If the parts are same except voltage, a may be able to cannibalize the parts I broke.

I don't know, perhaps some of the LJ78 guys will chime in.
 
All light duty 7x models (coil suspension front and rear) are 12v regardless of their destination.
 
@beno - do you know the part number for the corresponding 12v version of the rear wiper motor? I'm confident I can take it apart and swap out the spindle if my last ditch effort to find the 24v version fails over here.
 
85130-60130 This is used for all the 12v 7* series and still being used. But you should be able to find a used 24v unit, they were used in BJ70/73/74 from Japan as well
