So my rear window gear is the plastic one and has a few cracks, though it isnt busted yet. Cant get a brass one yet, so ill fix the old one, figured id show what ive done and the bits used:

Put a metal ring with screws and epoxy on the inner side, seems pretty standard. I used a 1x1.5in 18 guage machine bushing i found at ACE hardware in the bins next to the fender washers. Fits perfectly.

Then i picked up some stainless #4 screws with recessable heads, then
drilled the machine bushing, counter sunk the holes with a larger drill bit and drilled the holes in the gear:

Then used some epoxy and put it all together. Should hold up pretty well.

Pretty sure the ridge is only on the cover, so put it on the back of the gear and leave the upper side open. Ill update once i put it back together all greased up!
