Rear window control switch replacement

Has anyone ever replaced the switch in the tailgate that is used for rolling up and down the back window with the key?

I have the part that says toyota and that has the license plate lights off. This piece contains the tailgate lock and switch for rolling the window up and down.

So how does one pull that switch off or out? Anyone got any ideas?

I think there's a little button on the side that you have to press in to separate it into 2 parts... But it's been over a year since I messed with one...

Yep I saw that little button and pressed on it and it didn't want to budge. Think I will need to use a different tool and more pressure. If you could post up what tool you used to pressed that little button I would be extremely grateful.

Just got done trying to get it to separate and no go. I put a lot of pressure on the little silver button on the side and cant get it to budge.

So there are no directions in the FSM about replacing this switch. I cannot figure out how to separate the switch from the lock.

Maybe you need to have the key in/ in and turned to press that little button.
