The past 3 times I've replaced my brakes I've gotten new rotors too. Usually they end up getting warped and since the front rotors are already off, i just get new ones put on.

The back also, since the wheels are off and rotors are off i just replace them. I just feel that, its my brakes...I'd rather have all new stuff in then just replace one part and "possibly" reduce performance.

Ehm, do you also change the r¡ms every time you put in new tyres? :D

no but i should. LoL You know what i meant. If i had a few more sets of tires sure ied swap the rims each time. hehe.

Sorry sincity, the old rotors get thrown out...ill remember to save them next auguest/september, thats when i usually change my brakes.

Sounds good, I`ll take em` !

But `ya better line up a good trail to run with me while I`m there, I dont get up North very often :)

You're on! We have several great trails up to 1.5 hours away...the snow level will be the biggest factor going into winter :)

Spresso, What rotors are you running? I'm going to look forward and order some up so there here when I need them. I'd like cross drilled if there out there, good luck with those on my other rigs.

If they are OEM rotors and there is still meat left then just get them turned. Aftermarket rotors seldom take machining without warping. The dealer price is out to lunch - i suspect that price is for the labour to remove them, replace pads, lube calipers etc - rear brake service.

I always use OEM brake parts, never had problem - only time i had problems was with aftermarket crap.

Jeff,
ART (Applied Rotor Technology). They are not cross-drilled...and they do not recommend drilled for my/our application. FYI: They cryo and slot the rotors. The slots are NOT milled edge to edge (even though their home page depicts differently) AND the slots are bottom radiused: No cracking per ART. I am running the Kevlar pads up front and because it saved me about $75 I went with the carbon in back. Coupled with the SS lines I, conservatively, estimate I have 20+% more peak brake power without any fade along with great modulation. Like anything else that is high performance I guess...they're not what I would call cheap. FYI: I have not had ANY problem/issue with stones getting caught in the slots.
