Well, it's come time to swap the OEM bumpers for something sturdier. We're prepping for Rubicon and the bumpers, and exhaust, are our weak points. Any suggestions? Something clean and simple, 1 swing out. Sean has done the DIY kits on the truck so leaning towards those kits for the cruiser too.

Thanks!

4x4 labs are good. They slide off of rocks. Not so crazy about their sliders but like the bumpers.

Can be had whole or as a kit.

Here is a 4x4 labs DIY for sale

Most rear bumpers will require you to cut the rear crossmember. I think Slee, Kaymar and a couple others do not, but they stick out a little more.

Thanks! We already have skids/sliders, so just need the bumpers

Delta products are amazing

Run the stock tupperware on the Rubicon, they're expendable. Why scratch up a new bumper?

The problem with the stock tin foil is it won't protect the sheetmetal. It will probably also become detached and so trash you have to pack out. Whatever bumper you chose I'd look for those with the slanted / taper profile that slides off of rocks well.

The Tupperware has already taken a beating 😂 it's also catching on the rear tires

That's the problem we're having. We've hurt the body, it's rubbing on the rears, and the sides are just barely hanging on! Thanks for the advice Frank!

Update- did Coastal for the front and 4x4 for the rear. Purchased the 4x4 that was being sold on Mud (thanks @sdnative for sharing that!); took a weekend and drove to Flagstaff and back which was just so much fun. Sean spent one weekend on each, and they turned out great! We immediately moved on to the next project- new front seats from a BMW c class, and picked up a DIY roof rack/water carrier.
