I'm starting work on building my rear amby doors and I need a bit of help.

For starters I need the correct length/width of the doors so I can make my new ones the right length.

I got mine sandblasted and with all the bondo removed I can see someone patched them before in a very square manor so I doubt they're the same length they were originally.

I'll post up some pictures soon.

I get 15 3/8" from that crease midway down to the bottom.

That's with the dumb end of the tape slid up and jammed into the crease...if'n you follow that.

When I eventually get around to doing mine, I may adjust that length a smidge to fit my tub better. My rear sill is likely a little different from stock.

Might want to do a test fit before going too crazy with the zapper, those old aqualu tubs had some variations...maybe before they got the shop properly ventilated

Hey Ryan are the bottoms on your doors stock or other?

If you could take a couple of pictures of the bottom with a tape measure for reference that'd be great... just trying to make sure I get things roughly right...

I'll be making a new skin from scratch I think as someone patched those blue doors up a little ways...

well, stock plus rust..

I measured to a spot that looked original tho.

If you like I can paste it into a little See Jane Run book and have it pop out for you too. :flipoff2:

Anyone know the height and width of an ambulance door window? The height and width to the outside of the seal?

I've got a crazy idea floating around in my head... Dreaming of a stretch to a Fj43. Curious how the windows would compare to a 14" stretch.

To the outside of the rubber seal is 16 in tall and 16 3/4 wide

Interesting... I just measured the side windows. The ambulance door windows are about 3/4" shorter. However, if they were turned sideways, hey would be essentially the same height. Which would work perfectly with an 18 inch stretch... A little longer than a 43, but very interesting.
