It's an 80 thing. If this was in the 80 tech section it would be ten pages long.

Changing your diff fluid BEFORE a wheeling event is not the brightest plan any way.

It would be Joe asking all the questions.

Again. You're doing it wrong

But you knew that, didn't you, Walter

But that will complete the baseline! At that point the truck will run as good as it can, with a broken mirror and some ice scratches.

BTW should I baseline my 4runner?

I always free base...er..ah...baseline my 4runner

Especially before an event

I don't trust the results. So I continue to baseline it twice weekly

Then I change things & do it all over again

When I switch from winter air to summer air in the tires
It always makes a huge difference in the way my stereo plays

I rotated the floor mats & that increased my turbo out put
And I don't even have a turbo

I found that washing the inside of the box frame sections
Makes my fuel door open smoother

I like to use 5 different types & viscosities of oil when doing an oil change
Just to see if that will help my side view mirrors be more accurate

Fact: cruise control does not prevent road rage

Fact: pulling the emergency brake handle will not stop the emergency
It only slows it down

Fact: putting an extra pair of socks on promotes safe sex

I rotated the tires on my truck while driving this morning

Guys, vice grips + hammer rounded the bolt even more. Now what?

All that on the stock PHH....

Warning: this post might have some tech content...

To help prevent stripped drain/fill plugs grind or machine the tapered lead out of a 24mm socket. In the pic - on the left an unmodified 22mm socket; on the right a modified 24mm socket. I used a lathe but a grinder will do the same thing. This helps the socket get a better grip on the thin drain/fill plug heads.

Nick

Ok, back to yer normal selves...

a Mac Edge socket would have gotten that..... If you can still find a Mac tool distributor in business....

Sheesh. Toyotas are the easiest things to work on ever

Sounds like a jeep guy tryin to fix somethin here

I guess all of my help was for naught

That's it im done bein helpful on this project

Time to grab a chisel. Drive the chisel into a corner of the drain plug. The idea is to use the chisel to bite into and push the corner to turn the plug out.

Nick

it works...do it

I paid 50 bucks at the dealer today. They used an air chisel, which was one of the last options. It wasn't worth the time jacking around or money buying more tools - money well spent.

$50 bucks!

Next time, pick up a 12 of High Life, head to my place, and I'll drink the beer and watch you work on your sh!t.
