Well ARB have done the right thing and warranted the air locker. New one inbound. I have a new pinion seal and nut from toyota as well. Now I just need to find somebody that can properly set up diffs and I'll be rolling once more.
After dealing with ARB on my own locker parts a couple months ago, I had a feeling that they would hook you up.

Well thought I'd better update the thread in case it might help some others later on.

After dropping the diff down at the diff guy to have the new locker, pinion seal and nut installed, I got cold feet and bit the bullet on new bearings. Toyota bearings at trade prices, which was lucky because they are expensive little buggers. Fast forward 4 weeks (builder had knee surgery) and he rings me and says, dude this diff must have had the most horrible whine, and it's not going back with this gearset😭. So I drop another $700 over to terrain tamer for a gearset.

Pictures of the original gearset after the builder set it up:

Safe to say he wasn't pulling my leg. That contact pattern is horrible.

So at this point I'm about $1300 deep just in parts before any work has even happened on this bugger. My holiday fund at this point is bearing it all and not coping at all well.

Anyway fast forward another 3 weeks and I finally get the diff back, completed and ready to install. Labour cost on assembly you ask? $1349 thankyou very much. All up $2650.😬🤕

So after all is said and done, my leaky pinion seal and free locker turned into a $2650 rebuild. But I am glad I bit the bullet and did it properly. All I will say is the guy that built the diff has done a fantastic job, and for the money I'm damn well gald for that.

Some things to note that I have learnt.

1. ALWAYS take your differentials to a specialist to build. ARB installed this locker and I found out backhand that none of the people in that shop had experience with diffs. (One of the biggest ARB shops in Australia). It lasted 80,000kms since they fitted the locker, which is a poor poor life from any diff.

2. Just do things right. I did not need to spend that cash right now but glad I did even though it hurts.

Ugh! Glad it's finally sorted and looks like the new gears set up nicely
