rear center stock bumper question

please see about half way down on this page at sor, #20 the main channel of the rear bumper is what I am speaking of.

Wondering if this center piece of the rear bumper can be made out of channel steel? curious what others have done? I have found a good front bumper and rear end caps but will need this center section. If anyone has one please pm me.

I had a fabricator make one for me a few years back from some 7ga HRS. They did a nice job, all the holes lined up, but the radius on the bends were to sharp and didn't mate well with the bumper ends. I primed it a put it out in the shed for "just in case".
