Rear body weatherstrip install

All,

My replacement seal for the rear body has two cutouts approximately 40" apart. My original seal either did not have them or I neglected to note their location. Any idea where these should be positioned?

I thought so too, but theyre much closer together and the cutout faces inward (towards the interior)

Do you still have the old seal? If so does it have witness marks from the trim contact that could indicate orientation?

Tossed the old seal like a true genius.

Looks like they go overlapped/outboard of the lower tailgate hinges. This is the right side.

Interesting... perhaps I've installed it backwards. Are the small holes on the inside or outside of the weatherstrip?
