Posting some details I learned doing rear wheel bearings, oil seals, and dust shields in case it can be useful to others. I followed this thread but used a different press tool.

On my Chicago truck I opted to replace the dust shields as mine were rusty and the shields can only be replaced when the axles and bearings are out. The shields are quite expensive. I ordered from Impex Japan to save a few bucks. I also had to replace the studs that hold the axle to the housing because one was corroded in place and did not want to press out cleanly. Would recommend having these on hand if you have rust.

The OEM bearings are Koyos and can be had from PartsOuq for much less than from Toyota. Part numbers for the Koyos are:

Reason for doing this job was leaky oil seals with diff oil visible on the rotor. This was much worse when I got the wheel off. The parking brake shoes were soaked in oil and had to be replaced.

The bearing puller tool I used is made by MC Special and is available on eBay. The 200 series kit is a really nice set that fits in the common 20 ton Harbor Freight press without modification.

Disassembly is covered in @bloc 's thread so I will just cover how to use the MC Special tool once the axle is removed from the truck.

Bolt the adapter plate to the axle using the stock bolts from the truck (bolts not installed yet here)

Ready to press. Press plates used to limit the stress on the tool's flange.

After pressing the inner race will remain on the axle along with its dust seal. Knock the dust seal down with a punch so the race removal tool will slide on. Before the seal is removed, the race removal tool will not fit:

Bolt the main tool on top and press the race off. This required much less force than removing the bearing.

If re-using the dust shields, press out the studs to separate the old bearing and dust shield. Press the studs in to the new bearing and dust shield using sockets for support.

The main tool can then be used to press the bearing, washer, and retainer on to the axle. The tool includes an adapter that drops on and supports the inner race of the bearing.

Load everything on to the axle and drop it in to the tool. The kit also includes a circular plate that goes on the top to protect the axle during pressing.

All back together with the snap ring installed and ready to go back on the truck.
