What happens when you pull it?

It doesn’t do anything when I pull it.
The center seat armrest drops without pulling that lever.

A release to remove it...say for ski path-through?

or just a spring loaded clip to hold center seat-belt out of the way. Pull it out, slide belt behind it, release to secure...

or see next post :)

When you pull that lever it releases the center section that is behind the center arm rest. Basically so you can pass something long like skis thru the gap. Pull the lever and pull the center headrest forward to see what I'm talking about. Got my LC HE last Friday and had the same question. When I finish reading the manual I'm sure I'll find it somewhere in that massive book.
Best,
Robert

Glad I could help. The manual isn’t well organized but it has an awful lot of info.

All sorts of hidden gems/tricks in the manual...
I keep finding little beauties... Like... Rollibg up all windows you forgot to close before getting out...by simply pressing and holding the lock button on any outer door handle. As long as you have the FOB on you...they will start rolling g up after 3 seconds. then hold down until they close...including sunroof, which takes longer.
:)

All that to say... Read through the manual and you find great...HIDDEN...gems.

Now I know something without having to read the manual

On that same gem topic...
...you can also open all windows by holding down the unlock button on your key fob. Keep holding until open to your liking. Great for letting heat out before getting in. ;)

...or get techstream and diy.

If it does not work, you got to ask the dealer to activate that function.

Might depend on model year too... But a whole mess of guys have gone home to try both functions and found that it worked...with no dealer intervention. Others are like you...so hard to say for sure.

Note: I’m not saying your remote will CLOSE windows. Only the button on the door handles will close them by holding if it also senses the presence of the remote. Remote is only able to OPEN windows.

I learned the opening feature on accident when I was carrying something to the car, and managed to be holding the unlock button without knowing it. The look on my face had to be priceless since I didn't understand what was going on.

What year did they start doing this?

What year did they start doing this?

Mine is 2008...so all the way back to the beginning for 200’s...at least for US spec LC...and probably Sahara version is AU...

My 2015 has a strap that releases the armrest in order to fold it down. When the armrest is down, theres kind of a pass thru between the seats. Is there something else?
