Ok so my dad bought a 1986 Isuzu trooper 2 turbo diesel 2.2 liter back in 86, and about a week ago, I noticed the crankshaft bolt had fallen out. The mechanic says the crankshaft is probably damaged, and the harmonic balancer is toast. I can't find parts anywhere, and I can't find an engine for parts. Two technicians at the dealership I work at said I should find a universal harmonic balancer, get it on, tighten the bolt in to where it should be, and drive it like that. They said it didn't rev high enough to cause any major problems. Anyone have any suggestions??? It's my dad's rig so I really want to fix it. I'm 19 so I can't really afford an engine swap or anything that major.
