Hey guys, quick question. Got a new radiator for my 87 runner 22RE standard at Napa (first mistake). It has tranny cooler nipples on the bottom which the old (Toyota) one does not. Is this a seperate sealed unit? As in will I be able to run this rad without leaking? Assuming its a separate unit but I don't want to fill it and not be able to return it. Seems it would be for an auto and they just stock one? F'ing thing didn't even come with a cap! Grrrrr!!! Thanks in advance.

Pretty much every aftermarket radiator you buy now will have the tranny cooler in the bottom. I guess it's just easier to make one universal application, even if you don't need it. Totally separate heat exchanger. You could put some plugs in the holes if you want (and can find the correct thread). But otherwise don't worry about it.

I don't think I've ever seen a new radiator come with a cap. Some don't even come with the drain plug, you have to swap it over from the old one.

Thanks Ken. Cap wouldn't be a problem if it was the same size as the old one... Thanks again!

The cap I got for mine was for a chevy. The toyota ones wouldn't fit. The tranny cooler things on the bottom of the radiator should have come with cap on it. You can just leave the cap/caps on the cooler lines and be fine. I just left them on when I got mine. Next rad I get will definately be oem
