Real Time Question: 100 Deries Buyers Guide

Hello all!! I am currently enroute to meet a person who has a 2000 100 series for sale for $1,500 dollars. The seller states the vehicle has a bad issue with one of the front brakes and the rig barely has any stopping power. The rig looks rough but it runs and drives. It has 360k on it.

Anyone willing to give me a down and dirty buyers guide for this rig?

If the copper bracelets come with it , it's probably worth taking a chance.
But plan on spending at least that again for other stuff after the brakes, and please don't expect it to be a daily driver.
Any vehicle that runs is worth $1500. Although it would be nice if it would stop when you need to.

You could easily be into it for 10 to baseline it and you’ll still probably be chasing plenty of issues. If you’re ok to put the bare minimum into it and run it into the ground d then I would do it. If you expect it to be close to good then maybe pass.

In the other hand if you want to “restore” it.. then at least you know what you have. But then it will always have 400k miles .. so there’s that.

My garage kept LX has 285k.. was owned by a little old lady before me, and it has taken a ton of work to keep it reliable and “good”. It’s not perfect, but fairly close. Its been across the country at this mileage but I did quite a bit of maintenance to feel comfortable doing that.

Easily these can become money pits just depend on how much work you can do and how OCD you are
