Can anyone tell me what kind of caliper this is on my Runner. I want to buy a rebuild kit or a rebuit caliper because this is thing is leaking brake fluid. Here's a link to some pics.

The third picture looks like it says "GM-N" ont there.

Looks like a Monte Carlo of the early '80s variety. Not sure though, I installed the Eldorado on my FJ60 in order to use the e-brake. They are slightly different. Definitely a GM product. I did not think any of the rear disk brake swaps used anything elso other than the Eldorado or Monte Carlo brake calipers. I also remember FROR using supra calipers, but those do not look like them. Good luck..

Looks like a 2wd hi lux caliper. there are some on Ebay 4 sale now, you can compare the pics..

No, those are mid-80's Monte Carlo calipers, I have the same calipers in my RDB setup:

Those are Sky brackets too, I have the same ones.

KLF thanks for the info, thats exactly what I wanted. Are your brake pads wearing unevenly as well. Is it common for RDB kits to do this?
Look at mine.

Last I looked at mine they looked pretty even. These are "floating" calipers, which means they are supposed to slide freely on those 2 pins. This should even out the wear on the 2 pads. My guess is that there is corrosion on your pins, and the caliper can't slide on them. You should be able to slide the pads out, and push the caliper back and forth by hand.

You can buy just new pins, if they are really crusty. But, since you say it is leaking, I would just get a new (reman'd) caliper, I think I bought mine fully loaded from NAPA for about $50 each.

New pads and a hardware kit should keep the sliding to a minimum. I'm hoping..

I've already rebuilt it, so now I have to inspect the other side too.

hey ken what kinda rotors are those and or where did you get them? it would be nice to piece together a disk break setup for my truck in the rear.

I bought the rotors from Sky Mfg at the same time I bought the brackets. I couldn't find a machine shop around here that would machine a set of Chevy rotors for less than too much, so I just bought them from him. It was nice to be able to just pull them out of the box ready to install.

BTW, I had to grind the back of my calipers to get them to work with my IFS SR5 alloy wheels.

How much did you grind off the calipers?

Oh, I dunno... maybe 1/16" or so, maybe a little more. Wasn't much, and they don't seem to have been adversly affected.
