Reachable plane crash sites?

My wife and I have been talking with friends about visiting one of the reachable military plane crash sites on southern VI. Anyone got experience finding them?

We hope to find one that is in need of a bit of tending to, ie clean off cairn, repaint crosses, etc, sort of do our bit.

I've wanted to do something like that around Rememberance Day.

So far I suspect the one at Mt Bolduc may be the easiest. The other rumours are of:

A Hurricane at Nitinat;
A Hurricane at Pender Island
A Liberator at Bamfield
Something at Mt Whymper.

Anyone that has info, please let me know.

probably be one near my place one of these days, the way they keep doing their stall test thing right over top of my house.

it's a bit disconcerting when you hear a plane go by and the engine sputters and stops right above you....

mt bouldoc in cowichan lake. if you google it you can get the gps markings. i beleive it was a wellington and a lot of the plane is still there.

Was just up there last weekend.

There's a very large debris field that extends probably close to a km long.

The roads are a little confusing for a first visit, but not too bad.

Was up there not that long ago,some minor cleanup and fresh poppies are needed,dont move the debris. Here are some directions.

There's a Dakota 576 (similar to a DC3) near Pt Hardy that crashed in '44 - lots more to see than the Bolduc crash
