I have never seen these on a truck newer than 1966. There is a special groove cut into the driveshaft that a bead on the end of the boot drops into to lock it in place. Like the boot on the front wheel drive shift fork shaft.

Considering how much thicker than a modern shock boot these are, and the limited range of motion of stock leaf springs with stock height shackles, I would be curious how the boot would fair with any suspension mods that allow for substantial slip in the driveshaft.🤔

Regardless, it’s certainly a boon for 65 and older resto rigs. Hats off to @andybudge again. :cheers:
