I was just reading back through this old post today and looking at the old listings for ratchet crimpers.
It just struck me how this tool has become much more price efficient over the years.

Looking at the posts here - crimpers are now just a fraction of the price they were just 5 years ago.
Why is that anyone know?

More supply, or less demand?

More of a standardized technology. I remember a number of years ago when I was helping do line installation for a home theater company that they had ONE set that everyone fought over. I went to see if I could purchase one and they were stupid expensive even with an "industry personnel" discount. Now the tech has advanced enough that they have become pretty standard in any cable guy or home theater installers pack that it has driven the prices down. At least that is my take on it, could also be that there was a patent for the mechanism that expired and now everyone has access to it (kinda like the Specialized Bikes Horst Link suspension on their full suspension bikes).
