It turns out it was a LX570 which looks Reck'd:

I wonder if it got totaled because AHC couldn't handle the jump? I've heard of this happening to other LX570s in the dunes in Dubai.

Wow, airbags deployed. Front end destroyed. But hey, if anyone needs running boards, they seem to be in good shape!

I know its heartbreaking to see a 200 bite the dust.

I'm just wondering if coilovers would have saved it from being wrecked. (I love attempting jumps myself, don't get enough time to drive out to Indiana dunes). I don't want to make same mistake. I get my 200 airborne all the time but nothing as collosal as this. Hats off to the aussie, best 5 seconds of his life albeit the most expensive.

Not with the stock suspension geometry. From the looks of it he lawn darted on the landing. You'd need a lot more than 9-10" of up travel, hydro bumps, and a coil bucket hoop or engine cage to get a shot at a safe landing.

Coilovers most likely would not have saved that, unless there was a nice smooth landing ramp.

Reminds me of this video of a kid in his Jeep.

O man. Those sends are insane! Even with a modified, coilovered, whatever, those heights would be considered ridiculous.

Lesser jumps take fully modified chassis and long travel suspensions to handle sends like that. 20-30" travel with full complement of specialized shocks and hydro stops. Our stock suspension goemetry (regardless of spring/shock), have 9"F, 10"R. The drivers probably injured their backs doing that.

Taking this back to tech, you can add ~1" suspension travel to the front with an OEM coil spacer to get 10"F/10"R.

I like jump vids
